what was your favorite class while abroad, and why?
My favorite class was called Popular Culture. I learned a lot about not only Argentine culture but also the different traditions that communities in Latin America had. My professor valued her experiential learning, where students go to the community and learn from locals. One of our projects was to eat at a locally owned restaurant that served traditional Argentine food and write a review on what made it a conventional spot and if we liked the dishes they served.
What's one story or important aspect you always share about your time abroad?
You will go far when you meet people! For me, it was definitely a step out of my comfort zone, but I was able to visit so many places around Argentina and experience different atmospheres. My favorite was being able to go to a Racing FC soccer game with my friends and locals. We traveled about an hour outside the city by bus and got to know another loyal fanbase of Argentina.
